correspondence games

HI, is there a way to pause correspondence games? I am going in for surgery and I have a couple of games that will not be finished
If anyone here on the off topics knows anything about this, share your wisdom!

Afterall, the only option that comes to mind is to tell your opponent and play from the current position whenever you got the time. But that ain't helpin'.
According to Chat-GPT... :

«On LiChess, it is not possible to manually pause a correspondence game. Once a correspondence game has started, it will continue to progress even if one of the players is unable to attend to the match for an extended period.

However, LiChess does have an automatic vacation flag feature that allows players to indicate their temporary absence. By enabling the vacation flag, your opponents will be notified that you are currently unavailable to make moves, and the time control for your games will be adjusted accordingly. This feature helps ensure that your games do not time out while you are away.

To enable the vacation flag on LiChess, follow these steps:

Log in to your LiChess account.
Go to your "Profile" or click on your username.
Under the "Settings" tab, you will find an option called "Vacation Flag."
Toggle the vacation flag to "On" and specify the start and end dates of your absence.
Save the changes.
It's important to note that the vacation flag should be used responsibly and only when necessary. It is designed to accommodate temporary absences, such as vacations, emergencies, or other legitimate reasons. It's recommended to communicate with your opponents if you know in advance that you won't be able to attend to the match for an extended period, such as due to surgery, so they can be aware of the situation.

If you anticipate a long absence or anticipate not being able to attend to your correspondence games for an extended period, it's courteous to inform your opponents in advance and consider withdrawing from any tournaments or leagues to avoid causing inconvenience to your opponents.»

I hope your operation goes well. In most absentee games, there is usually an option to pause or take a break if you need to. I would suggest contacting other players or the platform you are playing on and letting them know your situation. Sometimes you still need to relax and distract yourself with other games, like I found Rocketplay casino no deposit bonus casinosanalyzer.com/casino-bonuses/rocketplay.com now you can play not with your money but with bonuses. Sometimes in life it happens that you need variety. Most likely, they will understand and want to grant your request. I wish you a successful surgery and a speedy recovery!
