How to push 2000+ rapid?

Here's my advice: Take your last rapid game and find out, why you lost/what you did wrong - don't use an engine!
This is imho the kind of work YOU have to do, to get better - not asking others what to do (those answers can be found in the forum anyways).

So, let's start and write your own conclusions here and we (the forum) maybe will help you afterwards to find your blind spots/the things you did not see. Good luck on your lifelong chess journey!

Always look at every possible check capture and threats(moves that threaten checkmate or capture) (both yours and opponents),I have missed countless wins and blundered countless games by not following it
It's really simple actually: don't hang any pieces. That's it. If you don't hang pieces you're 2000+ in no time.
Lol at the down vote for Molurus comment.

It's actually the most important thing which moved me over the hump.

It may sound simple, but that's really the key. Just basic skills and good habits. For online only play, Knowledge training comes later.

Basic skills and good habits is key.
There are four simple exercises for this.
Do some tactic training and you'll jump upto 2000.
To be 2000 you need to do these few things
1) Work on Tactics daily...Some good websites for tactics are Lichess (Obviously the best and free), Chess Tempo, and Chesscom
2) Play a lot of games and Analyse every single game you play
3)Openings: you can learn some basic opening theory with the Lichess database or Chessable (You can try out some free courses there) Just learn some simple theory like 6 to 7 moves or so don't go very deep (remember your trying to get to 2000 not doing World championship prep)
I’m self taught since 17, now I’m 37. There are a lot of types of chess knowledge...

Opening theory
Middle game theory
Endgame theory
Strategy
Tactics

Each improvement or study in each of these fields and experience nought help you get there.
I am struggling with the same problem, i hit 1997 and now I am on 1983. It's al about analysis.
