Bughouse

"Please don't ask me for bughouse. Lichess is a game for one board and two players" Thibault 2016
Your request sounds like an order. Words like "please" or "thanks" are also allowed in lichess.

Kind Regards.
Whats is going on that we repeat a move a million times and the system doesnt claim for the draw?!
#5 I just opened a new tread about this new bug.
#2 Just curious: Why old IRC-like FICS has bughouse for decades, I think, and this hipper-modern site can`t have it also? By the way:
I only played it over the board a few times, not even sure I would play it here, but lots of players love it, some people on FICS have around 100,000 bug games played, and with the usual perfect support it would be a success here. Interesting thing about crazyhouse and bughouse: There`s almost nothing to learn to start playing it. And definitively it`s fun. And I don`t play it. Now imagine how someone that loves it is drooling to have it here, since they smelled blood (I mean because there`s crazyhouse here now).
#6 That's probably because of the code. I have written some small programs myself and get to understand one thing: if you have defined things too narrowly it is hard to later expand it. Adding Bughouse to a system that defines a chess game as something that involves Player White, Player Black and Board 1 may have trouble accommodating a game that involves Player White A and Player White B playing against Player Black A and Player Black B on Boards 1 and 2. You need to redefine a Chess game probably to include the case of a game between 2 predefined teams on finitely many 8*8 chessboards. Even that is not necessarily enough. Probably a game has to include finitely many players playing in finitely many teams perhaps even allowing people to change teams on finitely many chess boards of finite size that can vary. Based on the new definition everything from display to calculations of rating has to change.
#6 The appearance of the site does not matter at all. It is the code that matters. If the program was not very broad when it was first written it may suffer from the problem of not including enough things until (hopefully) it is rectified.
All difficulties aside - bughouse could still be great ;) .. could be cool to play in teamwork
I wrote a pretty nice web app a few years back that supported bughouse (and bughouse 960). I probably even spammed this forum with the link. Could probably dig out the code...
