Never give up!

I lost my queen on move 3 but was able stalemate on move 80!

One of my greatest games.

It just shows you that it pays to never give up.
You are really proud of that "great game"?

Oh, you not only blundered your queen and were dead lost for over 70 moves without resigning, you also missed your one chance to equalise when your opponent allowed a knight fork.

I call this pointlessly wasting both your and your opponent's live time.
Well, I would have been proud to have pulled that one off. Stalemate on move 80 after blundering a queen on move 3. Not the most predictable outcome.

But perhaps we're all just pointlessly wasting time anyway?
Yeah, it's subjective. Playing at a disadvantage can often be a useful exercise. It builds resilience when you are placed in a tough situation. And let's face it, there will be plenty of such situations in games.

I think it was cool to play on after blundering the queen. But after 54. Bd5, it seems pointless. It was a miracle that you managed to get a stalemate. And that too was mostly because of how your opponent played.

So yeah, one can argue that at some point, it was pointless to play on. From an effort/gain perspective, it does seem futile and a waste of time. However, if you play just for fun, who cares about all that? I am sure it must have felt great to get a stalemate at the end. So from that perspective, I believe it was worth it.

Also, TLDR of your thread. Botez Gambit FTW :)
And that's where it gets questionable for me! As a beginner, I only realize very late, or not at all, when it is pointless for me to continue playing. I always played until the end because I believed that the endgame should be practiced in the same way.
It also looks quite a bit like a mouse slip, as they were capturing all the material, and that last move was simply one square short.
