Time limit to make a move

For those players that let the game running without resign, I suggest that lichess can make a time limit for each move, like 3-5 minutes, if a player lets the game running, after that time limit, he/she will lose.
There used to be a BELL that forced you to move when it rang or forfeit in Blitz Chess 80 years ago' @Ixxom
@Ixxom sorry this is not chess.com where we force they force you to move if you actually try to play the game and think.

Is it a crime to think what you going to do in a problem solving game such as chess?
Combatin' a problem—stallin'—by creatin' another problem—Chess players nah bein' allowed t' use thar time legitimately—doesn't work. Jus' like how combinin' bad Chess moves wit' other bad moves t' make 'em less bad doesn't work.
I THINK TIME LIMIT SHOUD NOT EVEN BE IN CHESS.WE CAN THINK FOR HOW MUCH TIME WE WANT

If you don't like the invention of chess clocks but rather sit until one player dies, there is always the option to play untimed games.

PS: Writing in all caps is considered shouting and very unpolite.
@Ixxom There's an app for your phone called Dr. Chess, which I started playing on before I discovered Lichess, and still play quite a lot on. It's got almost none of the functionality of Lichess, no computer analysis etc. Its very very basic. But each player gets around 40 seconds per move (there's no option to change the timing). There's no total time limit for the whole game, only a time limit per move. You should give that a try, might be just what you're looking for.

you'd probably have better ratings if you occasionally spent 3-5 minutes thinking on moves

That... sort of defeats the point of Classical over rapid...
If You want players to lose after 3 minutes of thinking, Play 3-0, not 30-0.
