Bye Bye Greece

Thank you Cynosure for you last two posts. Very informative.
So - which way? I think the eurozone is going to say 'no more' and I'd be willing to put 100 classic Lichess rating on it :)
I ultimately don't think the eurozone will say "no more", and I will match your offer.

Even if certain members say "no more" I don't think their voices will be significant enough/a deal will be worked out without the vocal minorities.
#24 Agreed; no self-respecting government would give the IMF a "sword of Damocles" putting their fate in other governments' hands. The fact that there was even a vote stands as evidence that Greece is still in charge of its own destiny.

Greece argues that -- after repeatedly failing to make timely payments -- that it needs more assistance; and that in exchange it will form a plan to make a committee to devise a strategy etc. Eurozone nations are finally saying "enough is enough" and demanding actual reform.
Why did the resposible people in Brussels disregard the EU-rules: every EU-country is responsible for its own economy, no loans between the members. What´s going on now is a never ending story. And the only explanation for this horrible loaning merry go round can be found in geopolitical strategies. If we stop the loans Greece probably will leave EU and NATO and turn to Moscow.
They're in the eurozone, so they have differently laws.

In eurozone countries you can give loans to other eurozone countries if it is done to make the euro more powerful. Countries in the EU but not in the eurozone (ie, the UK), do not give loans to other EU members, unless it's long term investment rather than short term bailout funds.

I doubt Greece wants to leave the EU or NATO. To do so would be signing it's own death warrant.
